When it comes to selecting students for doctoral programs, there are two main models:
There are two types of selection models in doctoral programs:
The "pyramid" model accepts a large number of doctoral students but has a low graduation rate due to high dropout rates. This model tends to have a high intake of students but a high rate of students who do not successfully complete the program.
The "tube" model prioritizes providing comprehensive support and guidance to admitted students. Once a doctoral student is selected and makes the expected effort, s/he is supported throughout the dissertation research and writing process to help defend the dissertation successfully. This model is known for its high graduation rate because it focuses on helping students through the process until they successfully complete the program.

At the Montblanc Business School, we choose the second model. Our approach to the selection of candidates is based on the "tubular" model. This model prioritizes the provision of comprehensive support and guidance to admitted students. We coach and accompany our doctoral students throughout the thesis research and writing process to help them successfully defend their thesis.
It is important to note that being enrolled in the program does not guarantee graduation. However, a hard-working, good-writing Ph.D. student should be able to reach the end of the process with the support and guidance provided by Montblanc'z. The Montblanc Business School believes that this model is the most effective way to ensure that our students are successful in obtaining their doctorates.
